Dr. Patrick Gentile teaches introductory communication courses and others focused on specialized areas: Intercultural Communication, Sport Communication and Qualitative Research Methods. He is also an affiliate faculty member in the interdisciplinary Global Health and Global Studies majors, in addition to the newly created Sport Studies minor in the Department of Kinesiology.

Dr. Gentile is the faculty advisor for the Communication Club and Lambda Pi Eta, the communication honor society. He enjoys conducting research projects with Hope students. His research niche is intercultural communication within professional sports. He’s especially interested in the impact of language barriers and other intercultural communication subjects on the performance of professional sport teams.

He has been teaching at Hope since 2022.

Outside the College

Dr. Gentile enjoys being in the kitchen, as he loves to cook, bake, and roast coffee. He also likes to run, golf, travel and watch his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. He has a wife, a toddler and a very energetic dog who he loves to spend time with.
