Dr. Steven Smith
Retired FacultySteven Smith started at Hope College in the fall of 1990 as a professor of kinesiology and the head men's soccer coach. He taught many courses in physical education teacher education. Additionally, he taught a senior seminar on faith and vocational calling. One of his favorite roles was serving as a mission trip leader every spring break to Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Areas of expertise
Steven’s research was in preadolescent childhood obesity. He was connected to the foundation for fitness program and researched the motor performance ability of obese children.
