Campus Climate Data

One way that Hope College measures the impact of our actions and improvement in campus culture is through survey data collected from staff and faculty members.

101 Best and BrightestCulture, inclusion and diversity data benchmarked to other West Michigan and national organizations

Â鶹ÊÓƵ participates annually in the 101 Best and Brightest program and their survey. This external assessment is administered to a random sample of our faculty and staff members. Results provide a big picture perspective of the institution. Within the survey are scales for culture and diversity & inclusion, benchmarked to other West Michigan and national organizations.

Great Place to Work and Hope Pulse SurveyCredibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie among Hope staff and faculty members

The Great Place to Work survey identifies organization and work group perspectives on 5 indices:  credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. The survey was administered at Hope in 2015 and 2017.

An additional set of Hope-developed culture and inclusion items were administered with the Great Place to Work survey in 2015 and 2017, and separately administered by Hope in 2019 and 2021.

Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) Faculty SurveyThe HERI Campus Climate Module measures faculty perception of the campus environment and our practices and policies, benchmarked to national results

Â鶹ÊÓƵ faculty members participate every three years in the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) Faculty Survey. The optional Campus Climate module, administered at Hope in 2017 and 2020, assesses their perceptions of the campus environment and the policies and practices that are in place.
