Accreditation

The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Teacher Education Program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), and all programs are approved by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). CAEP completed a formal review and site visit of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Educator Preparation Program in February 2019. The next accreditation review occurs in 2026.

Accreditation is vital to the education programs at Hope, as it allows for ongoing continuous improvement where the faculty regularly analyze data — from key assessments, MTTC test scores and survey data from graduates and principals — and set goals for the department. Every full-time faculty member serves on one of the following accreditation committees:

  • Standard 1: Content and Pedagogical Knowledge
  • Standard 2: Clinical Partnerships and Practice
  • Standard 3: Candidate Recruitment, Progression, and Support
  • Standard 4: Program Impact
  • Standard 5: Quality Assurance System and Continuous Improvement
