Applying to the Education Department

To be admitted to the education department, you must attend an orientation during the semester that you are completing your level 1 coursework (EDUC 200/201, EDUC 225/226, EDUC 270).

Orientation will be scheduled at the end of September or the end of February, with the due date of all materials on the first Friday in October or the first Friday in March. You must formally apply to the department by taking care of the following obligations.

Remember that you are not allowed to enroll in additional education coursework past level 1 without completing the admission process.

Requirements for Application

Fill out all required forms.
- (and other agreements)
- Major Declaration Form
- Minor Declaration Form (if applicable)
- Three faculty recommendations are needed; one must be from outside the department.
Meet with an education advisor and complete a four-year plan of study.
Maintain an overall GPA of 2.75. This will be checked at admission and then at the conclusion of every semester. Failure to meet this requirement will result in additional requirements to continue in your education program coursework.
